My Dream Home....

On my way to my booth every day I pass by this house in the countryside...Its my dream home..
Some people that live here would probably not choose this house because it does not offer any of the wonderful ocean views Cambria has to offer...but this house speaks to me..the Green valley surrounding it...the privacy...the silence...No need for curtains here..because no one can see you for miles...I would have all sorts of animals in my little farm if I lived here ( Oh did I say my husband would not be caught dead there...he likes new homes and he is NOT a farm boy at all , but this is my fantasy home, and in my fantasy he would miraculously change and want to live here ! ) All my animals chickens, cows and pigs would all have names ...no one would ever be killed ! Yes a no kill farm! I would have a section for dogs and cats that I would rescue from the SPCA until I found homes for them...( Oh of course I would be wealthy because I had to maintain all these animals..and of course.. I would have someone come in and clean for me every week..I think of this every time I pass this house...I wonder if the reality of living this life would be just as wonderful as the fantasy??? Do you have anything your dream about????

oh, girl! i had a dream house once - drove by it every single day to and from work - every day - some days i would just stop and look at it - it called my name - i was sure i heard it calling me - and so it went for 2 years - the house was empty - a 1920s bungalow sitting on a large lot with 100yr old pecan trees and a huge magnolia - it was in desperate condition - but - it called me - and i knew i had to have it - so i tracked down the owner in another city, wrote him a letter and told him i needed that house - and here was how i proposed to have it and what i intended to do with it - told him about my children and my grandchildren and how that house was going to be "nanny's house" that they would always remember with me in it baking chocchip cookies and having a bunch of big long haired cats for them to play with - i told him how i was going to put window boxes of flowers in the front windows and hang a rope swing in the biggest tree in the back just like i had at my grandmother's house - i told him what colors i was going to paint the interior and - so, how much would he sell it to me for? oh, and it wasn't for sale, either - but i didn't let that stop me from writing him my letter - and bottom line is that within two months i owned that house and lived there 15 years - one of my grandchildren came home from the hospital at birth there - and he and his siblings lived with me and their mommie for several years there and intermittently for all those years - it remains the one house all the little ones know as "nanny's house" - the house i dreamed of - literally -

postscript is that i did sell it several years ago after i'd been on the east coast several years - but i miss it still!

It is perfect, just like my dream house, only problem is at the moment I am in the wrong country for my own dream house to appear! You keep dreaming, and yearning and manifesting, until, presto, a dream comes true.....

My thought is that "if you can see it, it can happen"......just keep dreaming the dream and who knows?

I can't wait to see every room decorated in that wonderful "Marlene" style that I love. I can't wait to play with all the animals too! Put it "out there," Marlene and see what happens.

That house is so pretty. I could see why you like it. It must be beautiful where you live and you have nice weather all of the time. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll be back to say hello.

I am 53 and I have moved, no exaggeration, more than 50 times in my life (once, Daddy moved us into the house next door). So I have lived in many houses and yes, there's been a dream house I wanted and plotted to get (to no avail). And my current place is not decorated like my 'dream' idea at all. My husband has no concept of feathering a nest!ha! But when I walk down the stairs and I see out my windows the river, the hills, the eagles flying by, the clouds moving in and out ... I feel like a movie star with a mansion on Malibu -- actually, better I think. Cause I never lose the appreciation for what I see and dont' take it for granted.

your dream home is beautiful! look at the gorgeous greenery surrounding it. :)

I dream of one day living along the shores of Lake Michigan overlooking the Mackinac Straits...and bridge and perhaps glimpses of the island! heaven! :)

It seems like you have hit a nerve with this post! Everyone has a "dream" house. My husband and I just bought 12.5 acres of farm land and are in the process of planning, then building our dream house. It may take you a long time but follow your dreams!

ps. I LOVE Gypsywoman's comment!!!

Sometimes I wish that I could pick up the Jarvis House and drop it on a rural property somewhere east of me on Long Island. I love this house, but over the 35+ years that I have lived her the town has really become crowded. That happens a lot with older houses, they are originally in a rural location and then development happens. I have almost an acre here in the now, middle of town, but I am lucky to have that much in suburbia, and I do have a garden and two barns. It's probably a little too late for me to get another dream house, so I appreciate this one each day.
